QWgeqLBw_400x4001. Grandview Prep (22-0)

Previous rank: 2

This week: vs. Coral Springs Christian; vs. Hollywood Christian; at Lake Worth Christian

Respect factor:

The Pride finally get their wish, moving up to the number one ranking after #1 Miami Norland fell last week. Grandview is certainly deserving still undefeated this late in the season. Grandview blew out Coral Springs Charter last week and looks at three more winnable games upcoming to finish the regular season. Thus proves, Grandview will likely need to finish off the season undefeated to get that desired state ring.

logo2. Dillard (18-5)

Previous rank: 3

This week: vs. Stoneman Douglas**

Respect factor:

The Panthers are sizzling hot at the perfect time, currently riding a 10-game winning streak. They finished off the regular season with two big wins over Douglas and then #10 Coral Springs, and will look to head into the playoffs on a high-note, attempting to win the Big 8 tournament that starts Wednesday night.

Previous rank: 7

This week: vs. Miami Country Day; at #13 Sagemont; vs. Mater Lakes Academy

Respect factor:

Mater Academy made a statement at the R.M.F. Respect Showcase on Saturday night, topping Dewan Huell and then #1 Miami Norland to gain the title now as currently the best team in Dade-county. The Lions are rolling this year—led by seniors Dylan Frye and Ralph Diaz—with just three losses, and none since November 24th. Mater is not a team you want to play heading into the post-season, currently holding the number three ranking, but still trending upward.

miami-norland-high-school4. Miami Norland (18-4)

Previous rank: 1

This week: N/A

Respect factor:

The Vikings suffered their first loss since the battle of the villages, and that drops them out of the top-five. They were upset by then #7 Mater Academy in the R.M.F. Respect Showcase Saturday night, a tough loss heading into the post-season. Miami Norland’s regular season has ended, so they will look ahead to the district playoffs upcoming.

wellington logo5. Wellington (20-4)

Previous rank: 4

This week: vs. Leonard

Respect factor:

No blemishes last week for the Wolverines, who topped Palm Beach Gardens and Palm Beach Central in back-to-back district showdowns heading into their final regular season game at home against Leonard this week. Although last week they were, due to circumstances of other results, Wellington drops back a spot this week, but certainly not because of their performance.

1440438443_central_rockets6. Miami Central (17-4)

Previous rank: 11

This week: N/A

Respect factor:

The Rockets rallied off of their double-overtime win against Boca Raton to a blowout victory over previously #5 Archbishop Carroll, blowing out the Bulldogs by 29 points. That, combined with another blowout win over Coral Springs Charter at the R.M.F. Respect Series, bumps Central up five spots this week.

Unknown7. Zion Lutheran (19-5)

Previous rank: 9

This week: vs. Dade Christian

Respect factor:

Zion Lutheran stayed hot this week with two wins without much trouble. The Lions topped St. John Paul II by 48 points on the road, and also West Orange by 43 points. Zion climbs two spots this week before capping off their regular season against Dade Christian on Wednesday night.

1418402712_st_andrew's_scots8. St. Andrews (20-1)

Previous rank: 8

This week: vs. Park Vista; at Boca Raton

Respect factor:

The Scots bounced back from their first loss suffered against Oxbridge Academy last week, with three wins over International School of Broward, American Heritage-Delray, and Calvary Christian, all of which were not too close. St. Andrews closes the regular season this week with a showdown at home with Park Vista, and a tough road clash with previously ranked Boca Raton.

archbishop-carroll-bulldogs9. Archbishop Carroll (22-3)

Previous rank: 5

This week: vs. Coral Park

Respect factor:

The Bulldogs were unable to live up to my #5 ranking after getting demolished on the road by then #11 Miami Central. However, due to losses by other teams, I’ll only be able to drop Archbishop Carroll four spots. They have an impressive resume besides the Central loss, and it’s hard to deny a team with just three losses on the year, despite last week’s blowout. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on senior night against Coral Park before the playoffs begin.

Unknown-110. Westminster Academy (16-6)

Previous rank: 6

This week: at Salisbury**; at Gunnery**

Respect factor:

The Lions stayed hot at the beginning of the week with wins over Somerset and Calvary but were upset by Chaminade-Madonna at the R.M.F. Respect Series on Saturday. That loss drops the Lions back four spots, getting the nod in the 10 spot for me over Pembroke Pines Charter, simply because Westminster took down the Jaguars by 23 when they played earlier in the year. The Lions will look to rebound in Connecticut against two tough opponents this week.
