*= conference game

**= neutral court

miami-norland-high-school1. Miami Norland (13-3)

This week: vs. #12 Miami Central*; at Carol City*; vs. Douglas County**; vs. #10 Westminster Academy**

Respect factor:

The Vikings continued to roll this week as they blew out district opponent Northwestern by 44 at home Wednesday. Miami Norland, however, will have a tough week upcoming with four games including two district showdowns, and a tough one in the Martin Luther King classic against Westminster on Saturday night.

QWgeqLBw_400x4002. Grandview Prep (18-0)

This week: vs. #8 Zion Lutheran; vs. Doral Academy; at Riverview

Respect factor:

The Pride are on fire this season, as Grandview has won by double-digits in all but one game this year. This past week, Grandview defeated Uperroom Christian by 64, Boca Christian by 64, and Chaminade-Madonna by 21. However, the Pride will stay behind Norland in the number two spot, but will try to plead their case to bump up to number one with a tough showdown looming against Zion Lutheran.

logo3. Dillard (14-5)

This week: vs. #13 Pembroke Pines Charter

Respect factor:

The Panthers have rebounded quite well since their early season loss to Mater Academy. Since that loss, the Panthers haven’t lost (despite the highly talented tournament Tarkanian Classic). This past week Dillard picked up wins over rival Boyd Anderson and McArthur. Juniors Jordan Wright and RaiQuan Gray will look to lead Dillard to run the table to the rest of the way, but the Panthers will face a test against Pembroke Pines Charter this week, although Dillard defeated the Jaguars earlier in the year.

1418402712_st_andrew's_scots4. St. Andrews (17-0)

This week: vs. Oxbridge Academy**

Respect factor:

Coach Johnny O’Connell has his Scots thinking undefeated season, but they still have some more obstacles in the regular season to overcome. One of them was defeated last week when the Scots took down district rival Coral Springs Charter in a tough road matchup, but St. Andrews will face Oxbridge next Saturday at the MLK classic, before looking at tough games against Park Vista, and on the road against Boca Raton the rest of the way. It’s certainly been a remarkable season, and all signs point to a Lakeland trip for 6’6” junior guard Anthony Polite and the Scots.

wellington logo5. Wellington (15-4)

This week: at Pahokee; at Jupiter*; vs. St. Petersburg**

Respect factor:

The Wolverines are another team that doesn’t get the hype they deserve. Wellington only lost by Miami Norland by five earlier in the year, and continue to dominate Palm Beach county basketball. Wins over Palm Beach Gardens by 20 and Palm Beach Central by 12 have Wellington at 15-4 heading into this week, earning them a spot in my top-five.

This week: at Westland Hialeah*; vs. Mourning*

Respect factor:

The Lions only two losses come at the hands of Miami Central and Westminster Academy, and both were by just three. Not to mention, both were two of the first three games of the year, and Mater has been undefeated since. Two district matchups this week and a showdown with mighty Miami Norland next week loom for Mater to solidify their number six ranking.

archbishop-carroll-bulldogs7. Archbishop Carroll (20-2)

This week: vs. Booker T. Washington; at Westminster Christian

Respect factor:

The bulldogs could be higher as it is close to a toss up between them and Mater. However, the Archbishop Carroll is on a tear, winners of five straight including against tough opponents Pembroke Pines Charter and University School. A loss to Champagnat Catholic earlier in the year keeps me from placing them anywhere near the level Wellington is at, but the bulldogs could easily make a run at a state title, with games against Booker T. and Westminster Christian upcoming this week.

Unknown8. Zion Lutheran (15-4)

This week: at #2 Grandview Prep; vs. Calvary Christian

Respect factor:

The Lions are highly talented, and only losses come to four top quality opponents. In fact, Zion only has one loss in regular season play (excluding tournaments), and it’s to #6 ranked Mater Academy. However, the Lions will have their hands full against #2 Grandview Prep this Tuesday.

Unknown9. Sagemont (14-4)

This week: vs. Coral Springs Christian*; vs. #25 Boyd Anderson**

Respect factor:

The Lions stay in my top-10 despite a tough district loss on the road to Westminster on Friday night. It was a game where Sagemont led most of the way but let it slip away. They’ll get a shot to redeem themselves against district opponent Coral Springs Christian, and Boyd Anderson this week.

Unknown-110. Westminster Academy (10-4)

This week: vs. #1 Miami Norland**

Respect factor:

Watch out, the Lions are getting hot at the perfect time. Since a tough loss on the road to Providence in Jacksonville, Westminster has won four-out-of-five, including a huge district upset over #8 Sagemont Friday night. But a powerhouse awaits as they take on #1 Miami Norland at the MLK Classic Saturday. However, Norland will be playing its fourth game in five days when Westminster faces them.
